Family Sponsorship

What is Family Sponsorship?

At GR Immigration Solutions, we understand the importance of being with the person you love. Canada’s Spousal Sponsorship program allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their spouse or common-law partner to become a permanent resident of Canada, ensuring couples can build their lives together without borders.

To qualify, the sponsor must meet specific eligibility criteria, and the sponsored partner must also fulfill certain immigration requirements. A key part of the process is proving the genuineness of your relationship through strong documentation, while also demonstrating the sponsor’s ability to provide financial support.

Once approved, the sponsored partner receives permanent resident status, granting them the right to live, work, and thrive in Canada alongside their loved one.

With GR Immigration Solutions, you’ll have expert guidance at every step—making the process smoother, faster, and stress-free.

Sponsorship Eligibility – Bringing Your Loved Ones to Canada

At GR Immigration Solutions, we help Canadian citizens and permanent residents reunite with their loved ones through Canada’s family sponsorship programs. You may be eligible to sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner, provided your relationship is genuine and was not entered into solely for immigration purposes.

Eligible Relationship Categories:

Spouse – You are legally married, and the marriage is recognized both in the country where it took place and in Canada. Canadian immigration rules require that both partners were physically present at the marriage ceremony.

Common-law Partner – You have lived together in a committed, conjugal relationship for at least 12 consecutive months, sharing responsibilities and combining your lives with the intention of permanence.

Conjugal Partner – You have been in a committed relationship for at least one year, with the same level of commitment as marriage or common law, but legal, cultural, or other barriers have prevented you from living together or marrying. This often applies to situations such as same-sex relationships in countries where such unions are prohibited. If living together becomes possible, you are expected to apply as a common-law couple after 12 months.

If your relationship fits one of these categories, you can sponsor your partner through two main pathways, both averaging around 12 months for processing.

With GR Immigration Solutions, we ensure your application meets every requirement, your documentation is strong, and your case is presented in the best possible light—so you can focus on being together, while we handle the rest.
